Why build microfinance software on Laravel?
- You own it. The application and its data live on the organisation’s server. No per-member fees, no vendor lock-in.

What is inside
Loans with real microfinance maths
Each loan product sets flat or declining-balance interest, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly installments, grace days, a late penalty, processing and insurance fees and the number of guarantors. A loan goes from application to appraisal, approval and disbursement; payments are applied penalty first, then interest, then principal, oldest installment first. A nightly job marks late installments and adds the penalty.
Field collection for group lending
Every center gets a collection sheet for its meeting day, listing each member’s expected savings and installment. Officers fill it in on their phone and submit it; the branch posts the whole sheet in one click, and every amount lands on the right account and in the ledger.
Accounting that keeps itself up to date
This is where most microfinance scripts stop and FinGrove starts. Every money movement posts a balanced journal entry automatically. A repayment of 50, for example, debits cash 50 and credits loans receivable, interest income and penalty income with the exact split. Trial balance, income statement and balance sheet are therefore always current, for one branch or the whole organisation, and the automated tests check that the ledger matches every account to the cent.
Savings, HR and the field team
Regular savings with monthly interest, recurring deposits with schedules and late fees, and fixed deposits with maturity value cover the savings side. For the team there is selfie and GPS check-in, a live map of field officers (OpenStreetMap, no API key), attendance, leave and monthly payroll posted to the ledger.
Portals for staff and members
Field staff have a phone-friendly portal for check-in, collection sheets, tasks, leave and payslips. Members log in to see their savings, loan schedules and payments, open their passbook, request statements and raise support tickets.
Installing FinGrove
The download contains the Laravel application in fingrove-app/, a step-by-step HowToSetup.md, a MySQL schema with demo data and a Docker setup. On cPanel or a VPS the short version is:

Is the source code encrypted?
No. You get the complete, readable Laravel source code and can change anything for your own organisation.
Does it work on shared hosting?
Yes. Any cPanel hosting with PHP 8.2 or newer, Composer and MySQL works. A VPS or Docker is better for larger organisations.
Can I use my own currency?
Yes. The currency symbol and position, date format, timezone and fiscal year are settings, so FinGrove works in any country. The interface is in English.
How many sites can I install it on?
The licence covers one organisation on one production site, plus any number of non-public test copies. Buy one licence per organisation you deploy it for.
